The late Fred Bear . . .
founder of Bear Archery Company
and one of my life-long heroes
who inspired thousands
of sportsmen & sportswomen
was truely a "Bowhunting Legend!"
Fred Bear held more than
200 archery patents, while never
charging any archery company
for using his patents, so that
the archery industy and
bowhunters everywhere would
benefit from his wisdom!
Bowhunting would not be what it is
today had it not been for Fred Bear!
I completed this portrait
of Mr. Bear titled "Bowhunting Legend"
in the late 80's just after his death and donated
the portrait to the Fred Bear Museum Collection
which is now owned by
Bass Pro Shops in Springfield,MO.
Ted Nugent like myself looked up
to Fred Bear as a friend & role model!
I never met Mr. Bear in person
but he did call me back on the phone one time
and he gave me a renewed confidence in myself!
The "Nuge" wrote a song about our friend
titled . . ."Fred Bear"
. . . "SPIRIT OF THE WILD" CD & DVD,
a great song! . . . a great album! . . . a great man!
